Snip-Its Is Now Typlo: A Fresh Name, Same Great Tool

We have some big news: Snip-Its is becoming Typlo. Same privacy-first text expansion tool you know, brand new name and identity.

Why the Name Change?

When we originally picked the name "Snip-Its," we thought it was a clean, memorable way to describe what our tool does. Turns out, there is already a well-known brand with a very similar name in a completely different industry - a certain children's haircutting franchise. To avoid any unintended confusion or association, we decided it was time for a fresh start.

Better to make the switch now while we are still early than to deal with brand confusion down the road.

Meet Typlo

Typlo is the new name. It is short, distinct, and directly tied to what the product does: helping you type less and do more. No ambiguity, no mix-ups, just a clean brand that is entirely ours.

What Is Changing

• Product name: Snip-Its is now Typlo.
• Website: We are moving all website operations to typlo.app within the next week. Existing links at snipitapp.com will redirect to the new domain.
• Branding: Updated name and identity across the app, website, and documentation.

What Is NOT Changing

• The product itself. Every feature works exactly the same. Text expansion, Python and JavaScript custom variables, Fill Form, local encryption, cross-platform support - all of it stays.
• Your data. All your snippets remain stored locally on your machine, exactly where they are now. Nothing moves, nothing is affected.
• Your license. If you have a Premium license, it carries over to Typlo automatically. No action needed on your end.
• Pricing. Same free tier with all features and 5 snippets. Same Premium at $2/month billed annually.
• Privacy commitment. Local-first, no accounts, no cloud sync, no tracking. That will never change.

New Domain: typlo.app

Over the next week, we will be migrating all website operations from snipitapp.com to typlo.app. During the transition:

• Both domains will be active and accessible.
• All snipitapp.com URLs will redirect to their typlo.app equivalents once the migration is complete.
• Bookmarks and saved links will continue to work through redirects.

If you have any links saved, update them to typlo.app at your convenience. The redirects will remain in place for the foreseeable future, so nothing will break.

Looking Forward

This rebrand marks the beginning of the next chapter. The name is new, but the mission is the same: build the best privacy-first text expansion tool available. We are excited about what is ahead for Typlo, and we appreciate you being along for the ride.
